Who I Am: A Brief Intro;
Educational and Professional Palette: Painting My Path
Through Constant Development.
Hello, I’m Emma Laraby. a multidisciplinary graphic designer, illustrator, author, and educator based in San Diego and Los Angeles. With over eight years of professional experience, my work spans identity systems, branding, installation, book design, and cultural rebranding, particularly within museum and institutional contexts.

My creative practice is rooted in visual storytelling and cultural preservation, often drawing from themes of mythology, memory, and heritage. I’ve developed media campaigns for higher education institutions and conducted interviews with leading typographers from the Middle East, weaving cross-cultural perspectives into my design research and authorship.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from San Diego State University and multiple professional certificates from accredited CSU campuses. I’m currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Graphic Design at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, where my research focuses on identity systems, cultural institutions, and authorship in design.

As an AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) educator member, I’ve served as a speaker, event organizer, and community connector, working to bridge the gap between academic, professional, and cultural design spaces. My work has been exhibited in multiple galleries throughout the San Diego region and continues to evolve at the intersection of design, narrative, and cultural identity.
